FAQs About Radiesse
What is Radiesse?
Radiesse Volumizing Filler is an injectable wrinkle filler that works by immediately restoring facial volume to smooth out the signs of aging. Once injected, not only does it immediately add volume but over time, RADIESSE Volumizing Filler begins to stimulate the production of the body’s natural collagen for results that may last up to a year or more in many patients.
How long does the procedure take?
Usually the evaluation process and procedure takes about an hour.
Does it hurt?
Dr. Rosenthal, with offices in Fairfield and Greenwich, Connecticut, will place a numbing gel on the areas to be injected. Radiesse is FDA approved to mix with lidocaine, a liquid that also numbs the tissues. You will feel the flicker of a pin stick and a bit of gentle pressure with the filling of your face.
What are the potential side effects of Radiesse?
As with any injection, patients may experience side effects such as mild irritation, swelling, itching, redness, bruising or tenderness at the injection site, which typically resolve on their own.
How does Dr. Rosenthal’s technique differ?
Dr. Rosenthal is meticulous and takes his time with every procedure and surgery he performs. He will carefully mark the areas to be injected and will then actually mold and sculpt your face with his experienced hands to smooth out areas, lift, and revitalize your face.
What Does the Sculpting feel like?
It will feel like a deep pressure massage.
How quickly should I expect results from Radiesse Dermal Filler?
Restults are instant. Upon injection, Radiesse Volumizing Filler will restore volume and adjust the signs of aging.
How long does Radiesse last?
In general the product lasts for 9-12 months but does not vanish all at once. It is a slow loss of volume, which indicates the need for another treatment.
Will Radiesse forestall aging?
Imagine a rubber band with a weight on the end of it. Stretching longer and longer as the elasticity is lost. Without underlying volume to support your skin, it stretches. Radiesse will lift and hold the skin so you continue to age but at a slower, more measured rate due to your skin being supported.
What else does Radiesse do?
The calcium in Radiesse is the matrix for which collagen can form around it. By adding this natural collagen that your body produces, the rate which your body loses skin thickness is reduced.
Where is Radiesse placed?
Dr. Rosenthal places the Radiesse in areas that will look the most natural. The injections are usually above the cheek bone and arch of the cheek. He also uses it to smooth out jaw lines and fill hollows near the nose.
Are there risks?
Radiesse is a synthesized product so the risk of allergic reaction or infection is very low. You may be a bit bruised for a few days and slightly swollen.
When will I see results?
With the winning combination of Radiesse Filler and Dr. Rosenthal’s sculpting techniques, you will leave his office seeing an immediate improvement.
How many treatments are required?
Like building a house, there are multiple layers required. The first Radiesse session is essential in building a platform or foundation upon which the face is then suspended. The second session usually takes place 2-3 weeks later – adding a second layer to the foundation – much like adding the structure to the foundation. Upon the base or foundation, the house is built and sculpted. After each session you see an amazing improvement.
Are there other treatments that I could benefit from?
Juvéderm smoothes out lip lines and restores lost volume around the mouth.
The combination of Radiesse and Juvéderm is a perfect match for facial rejuvenation and enhancement. Botox is an effective product for balancing upper facial disharmony. Uneven eyebrows, “commas” between the brows, forehead wrinkles and crows feet are softened by Dr. Rosenthal. You appear to be your best with a pretty and relaxed appearance.
